Graduate software jobs with an engineering degree?

Can an electrical and electronic engineering graduate from a top uk Russell Group University get good graduate London jobs in software development? How likely is it? Is computer science a better option, despite cutting off the electrical engineer jobs?

Thanks for your reply. If the degree is at a top university, would it be possible to get the software jobs at top companies as well.

Yes, that's fine. I'm staring as a software engineer this June and I've had no trouble getting offers from all sorts of places without a computer science degree -- it's more about having a vaguely analytical degree rather than a computer science one itself.
