I recently created an article on loneliness and making friends - I am in first year and outlined so far my experience and any struggles I faced/face and any struggles you may also face.

I wrote this in mind for a lot of first years like me but it can apply to you guys in general, whether it be university or sixth form.

This is purely my experience and my view and I hope you guys like reading the article.

To summarise the article: being proactive at university is key, I know it is hard but university is huge and unless we don't make the first step, it becomes even harder.

This was a great article, and something that really rings true.

A lot of people find themselves stuck as university in a pit of loneliness and don't know how to get out.

Sometimes, you are your own salvation. Nice post!

Great article :h:

I think some of us put way too much pressure on ourselves to make as many friends as possible and beat ourselves up when we haven't managed too. Sometimes the best friendships take a while to start and develop. I know I didn't make some of my closest sixth form friends until the end of Year 12. I'm hoping a similar thing happens at university.

Thanks for sharing
