And another student has been missing since Thursday night :frown:

A university student's disappearance is "completely out of character" and officers are "extremely concerned for his welfare", police have said.

An air and land search for 19-year-old Daniel Williams is continuing after he went missing from the University of Reading in the early hours of Thursday.

Mr Williams, from Sutton in London, was last seen leaving a student union bar.

Appealing directly to Mr Williams, Supt Weems said: "You are not in any trouble, but we want to ensure you are safe and well."

He said Mr Williams' family had "no concern at all" prior to his disappearance and had described him as "a happy, normal 19-year-old enjoying university life".

If you are going out for an evening you should stay with your mates and everyone should look out for each other and make sure you all get home safely.

I've been to that campus, there's a lot of woodland and a large lake just outside the SU. Hate to speculate but it's not ideal surroundings for someone who's drunk and by themselves. Hopefully he's found safe and well.

The other case is heartbreaking as it would appear that she's been dropped off by a taxi at her house, and for whatever reason has not made it home.

It's horrible seeing so many stories like this, young people going on a night out with their mates and never coming home. Alcohol can have serious effects on even the most happy and care free of people, it's so important to look out for your mates.

or even better don't go out at all
I feel sorry and stuff but it really just shows how much "going out at night" is really a bad idea.

I completely disagree. Incidents like this are extremely rare, and students are perfectly right to want to go "out" of an evening. All work and no play makes Jack (or Troll73) a dull boy...
very sad news about Daniel Williams. RIP.

Ah dear :frown:

@sr90

Heartbreaking. Knew that's what the outcome would be. That area is an absolute disgrace - no light, no cctv, not even a footpath in parts - and such an incident was an inevitability. Hopefully at the very least this tragic incident will prevent it happening again.

I know how to have fun without needing alcohol .
Unfortunately police searching for Daniel Williams have found a body, we don’t know for sure that it’s him but it does seem that this story has quite a sad ending.

There's been an arrest:

But Libby is still missing.

I'm from Hull and this has engulfed the whole City.

My heartbreaking at this whole story.

Local media have reported that the police are searching a park and pond near where Libby was last seen.

Praying for a positive outcome.
