Genesis 1:27 - we were made in the image of God (imago dei) can be used as justifications against abortion, euthanasia, why we should treat everyone equally etc
Genesis 1:26 this is where God gives Humans dominion over creation - could be used as to why we must be stewards
Genesis 1:28 be fruitful and multiply
Matthew 3:13-17 Jesus' baptism
Youcat 333 do good and avoid evil
Youcat 379 neither euthanasia nor abortion is a humane solution
Youcat 161 Hell is the condition of eternal separation from God
Youcat 158 Heaven is the endless moment of love
Youcat 469 Prayer is turning the heart towards God. When a person prays, he enters into a living relationship with God

Chelsea:kungfu::gfight:

You can use all of these for questions that need evidence like 5 markers and 12 markers which is a statement. For example you could get a 12 mark question like “Euthanasia should be allowed by the Catholic Church” (or something along the lines of that and you can use Genesis 1:27 and Youcat 379 as an against because they basically mean that you shouldn’t harm your body since your body is a temple.
You can use Jesus’ baptism for questions on the unit trinity as all 3 persons are present during that baptism (Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God)
You can use Youcat 158 and 161 when a question is talking about Catholic beliefs about the afterlife and you need evidence to support what you say.
You can use Youcat 333 when talking about Natural law as we all have a conscience that tells us right from wrong and you can use it for stewardship questions
Hope that helped a bit

Let's use this to share good quotations for RE GCSE tomorrow.

Here are a few off the top of my head:

'Blessed are the peacemakers' - Christian teaching useful for War and Peace. It is a reason many pacifist Christians give.

'Love your neighbour as you love yourself'

'Thou shalt not murder'

Right, that's all I could think of. I'm not very prepared, as you can see . Let's share our relevant quotations.

'Pray continually'- Thessalions
