Is Exeter reputable for law?

Hi,

I'm currently holding an offer for Exeter and considering firming it but am just concerned about how exactly reputable it is for law?

I know it's a RG institution but it's absurdly high offer rate of 93% and giving out BBB offers to some makes me assume it's not as great as it appears.

I like the look of both the course and campus but am worried it's not held in as good esteem as other unis for law; would a career in the MC be possible with a degree from Exeter?

I'm also considering both York and Newcastle, any idea how Exeter compares to these or much of a likeness?
Yes. It is alright and as good as the others

Go to whichever you prefer. Newcastle has an 87% offer rate; York only has a low offer rate because it interviews its applicants. Both Newc and Exe, on Which Uni, have AAA average grades. York is AAB.

Don't get sucked into the trap of equating offer rate with how good the average student is at each uni. Under the old UCAS points (find them on CUG '17) Exe was always way ahead; but now UCAS points have gone weird so that Newcastle and York are way higher than QMUL -- I mean, give me a break.

Thank you, that's really helpful.

If you had to firm one out of those three, which would you personally go with?

Your choice is incredibly personal to you; to give you my favoured one is not gonna help you. But the message is that they all take you a step closer to top tier firms, if you're willing to put in the hard work. @J-SP I believe said Exeter has more London-bound people, whereas Newc and York tend to stay regional -- but the gist is that they all put you a step further to the same degree.

I would base the choice on location (e.g. distance from home acceptable), if you like the campus, is the city nice, and scholarships. Student satisfaction (and drop out rate) is dubious, I don't like it; but if you want an indication of how students find the course in a reasonably objective way. Go on Which Uni to find both of those.

I am firmly of the opinion that the teaching methods are largely the same, as are the modules on offer (though everyone knows I think Exeter's commercial specialism is amongst the best, most undergrads aren't gonna make use of it). We all know about problem-based learning, but I've seen it in action and it's really just what you'd be doing in ordinary seminars minus the flowery pedagogical jargon.

Don't focus too much on the statistics, it's really what you make out of your course. My friend is doing Law at Exeter and she got ABB when she needed AAA, so it's good to make it your firm if you don't want to stress too much on getting AAA.
Just because a uni that requires (I’m assuming) AAA or AAB gives out offers of BBB doesn’t discred the uni. Plus, they most likely gave them to higher potential students anyway, my friend predicted A*AA got a BBB offer from them.

In 2018, 4.2% of overall students enrolled with BBB. 2.5% year before, and then 2.7%.

Gives credence to your point, but I don't have the stats on what offers they gave.
