Girl 1 may have a crush, using her friend for confidence but getting jealous when you two get on better.
Girl 2 was recruited for emotional support but either she likes you too, she’s messing with her mate or she likes attention.

Or there is the third option where they both are messing with you, perhaps practising their flirting skills. But this is unlikely.
