How do you go about getting help for mental health at 16? Can you get medicine prescribed etc without going with your parents? What sort of stuff can you talk about to the doctor?

Go to your GP and explain what is happening with your mental health. More often than not they’ll prescribe something, antidepressants for example. You don’t have to tell your parents and your GP wouldn’t either. At 16 you’re legally an adult. And you can talk to the GP about anything. The only situations where they would be obliged to break confidentiality is if you are a danger to yourself or others.
