23 with no qualifications - am I too late?

Hi All,

I am 23 with no qualifications and a job that doesn’t particularly interest me.

I left school at 16 with 11 A-C GCSEs. I have always been naturally quite bright (sorry, I’ll put the trumpet away) and attended a grammar school. However, I was not sure I had the appetite and desire for further education at the time and left to start my first full time role. After over 4 years here, I became a bit distressed that I had never experienced the freedom of university like my friends. I left my role to travel for a while hoping I would be able to pick up where I left off when I returned.

Sadly this wasn’t the case and 6 months out of work meant I took a job that I wasn’t completely sold on. It is a great company and the salary is excellent, but if your head isn’t in it, I find it difficult to have the drive to succeed and progress.

With no qualifications, I am at a bit of a loss as to what jobs may be in reach. I am willing to learn in a subject that interests me - particularly property - but I am unsure where to start after 7 years out of education.

Any advice is appreciated.
