an engineer is making a circular disc. a model of the disc is drawn as a circle on a set of axes such that it passes through coordinate points P(-1,-1), Q(5,k) and R(7,3). given that angle PRQ is 90 degrees, find the value of k and the area of the disc.

So the points within the circle would form a right-angled triangle. What circle theorems do you remember that could be relevant?

Try question 11 very similar

Also if you sketch you will see a right angle PRQ. Gradient of PQ is negative reciprocal of PR. Then find equation for line QR and sub in x value for point Q and solve for y to give value of k
