What (possibly) explains ending in AIC

Since the ending in An Inspector Calls makes no real literal sence, surely you can create the most outlandish explanation for what really happens.

Here's mine:

This guy wants to kill Eva smith for some reason, so he decides to make it so he will never be caught. He knows that each of the Birlings have in some way harmed Eva Smith, so decides to frame them. He disguises himself as an Inspector and visits the Birlings (obviously Edna is in on the act). He tries to make it obvious that he is a fake, so when he leaves Mr Birling will phone the police to check if Eva Smith has been killed. Then the Inspector (or whoever he really is) kills Eva Smith. When the police then find her soon after, they grow suspicious of the Birlings, as Mr Birling has allready phoned them to ask about Eva. So the real killer gets away, while the Birlings are framed for the crime.

Only joking.
