I have shoulder length dark brown hair and I am planning to get my tips coloured (again). I am confused among these three -

Ash Grey
Purple
Shamrock Green

I am leaning towards Ash Grey but my mum keeps saying purple. What would you guys recommend? I am open to something other than these as well (except pink, I have had that before)

Idk, maybe blonde since imo it looks buff as tips ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Purple would probably fade to a grey anyway so might be a cool choice?

Green is off the table. I am a brunette (on the darker shade), no would call my hair black.

Planning to go with grey with a purplish hue. I'll post a pic!

I feel the same! So it is grey with a touch of purple. Also depends on what the stylist can do at the salon. I'll post a pic!

Surprisingly, my friend's purple faded to a green, so I am a little sceptical about that. Probably depends on the bleach and the base the salon uses.

Ash grey might be very difficult to achieve if you have already dyed hair/ it will take multiple sessions. Also bear in mind green might stain your hair so you might have limited colour options afterwards (but i guess its just tips so it doesnt matter)

It's actually completely natural right now so should be a good time. and yeah only getting the tips done since I want to have the option to cut it off after it fades to some awful shade.

I'm also skeptic about green color too, same with purple. Ash grey is far more versatile and classy. But I also agree that this color would be difficult to achieve if you have dyed your hair a lot before this. It's also hard to maintain, you'll need a specific shampoo and a proper routine. Though everything's possible.
