By this stage you need a decent set of notes. Mind maps and timelines. 100 pages should be down to 20 or even 15. Volume was your challenge and enemy

You then just need to practice getting used to answering essay questions.

Analyse the question, break it down for waht they want and then do a 15 min detailed essay plan with your intro 4-6 pata middle and conclusion. Bullet point.
Get used to the different sort fo questions they can ask and constructing your argumenr. They can aonly ask this in so many ways but its importnat for you to give them the answer they want.

Practice one essay plan in the morning and one in the evening.

You are on a D because.

You arent answering the question.
You arent analysing the issues.
Not enough depth and detail.
Not a well enough consructed argument.
Not enough evidence.
Not good enough explanation, evaluation and conclusion. Just do 5-10% better in each and you are there.

Your improvement is completely doable, but you need to move fast and get a grasp on what you need to do.

These books pretty promising and I would buy them if I were in your position.
