I have an interview and one task is to read or tell a story and engage with the class for 10 minutes. I will not know until the day what age so I need to take reading material for early years ks1 and ks2. Can anyone give suggestions on books please? I am particularly stuck on years 5/6? Finding a short story to suit them is difficult or do I read a paragraph? Any ideas welcome.

I would stick to fairytales for KS1 and for KS2 I'd probably say read paragraphs of books, eg a paragraph from Harry Potter where they see Hogwarts for the first time, Charlie and the Chocolate factory when Charlie drinks the bubble mixture.
