#1
Was just wondering the best ways to prepare and who thinks they've qualified? Everyone up for it?

Also wondering if anyone can make a good guess and what the grade boundary to enter is? I got 115 but possibly 107, 110, or 102 (theres 2 i cant remember my answers). Any estimations of the threshold would be well appreciated

Avg. Maclaurin boundary for the past 8 years has been 101/135. This paper seems slightly harder than those in previous years. I'd guess that the Maclaurin boundary is around 95/135.

There are many papers online for the IMO. Try to do 1 question every day until the challenge. This should only take you about 15/30 mins. That's if you're really dedicated and want a medal.

Wow thank you but 95 seems incredibly low. I thought the grade boundaries were gradually getting higher as well so is it possible the grade boundaries could actually be higher than last years?

For reference:

2011: 94/135
2012: 104/135
2013: 104/135
2014: 103/135
2015: 95/135
2016: 95/135
2017: 112/135
2018: 104/135

It has varied considerably over time. I found this test, personally, to be harder than the last few years. However - if you got above 105, you're almost guaranteed a spot in the Olympiad. I think this year, 95 will be sufficient.

Do you reckon a score of 108 would make it in?
