I had my blood taken a couple of weeks ago, they got the results but they said they want to take it again. Should I be worried?

My stupid thories as to why my blood is being taken again
Panic- you might get diagnosed with a blood diseasenot that my family has any history of that

Silly-I know it might so happen that I do have a problem but at the back of my head I keep on thinking I have a very rare blood type and they want more of it or it's a blood type noone has ever seen

Calm- It probably isn't a condition and the results were a bit dodgy

Should I be more worried than I am at present?????

I wouldn't worry, they probably want to see if a level has improved since last time, if they didn't treat whatever it was straight away i wouldn't worry about it being serious.

There are loads of things in your blood that naturally change from hour to hour, day to day, week to week depending in things like what you've eaten, if you're a bit ill etc. Sometimes they will want to re-test because there's a level that could be how it is for totally normal reasons or could indicate something is up. Testing again helps them work out if it was just one of those natural fluctuations or if there might be something else causing it to be like that all the time.
It can also be that there's been a mix up at the lab, they want to see how something changes over time, there's something "wrong" but only a little bit and loads of other stuff like that. It could also be that there's an actual proper issue sure, but the most likely reason would be something basic and not at all worth worrying over.

You don't need to worry at all. Realistically you're going to worry a bit cos you're human and humans worry even when they shouldn't, but try not to think about it and just wait to see what they say after these next results.

It is definitely not that.

It could be something as simple as an undefiled blood tube or a sample that has haemolysed. I wouldn't worry about it at this point.
