Can I change what uni course I’ve applied for after getting my offer?

Hi, so I applied for a joint English Lang and lit degree, but since attending applicant days, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d rather just do English Lang / linguistics, and that literature is not something I want to spend time in my degree on. Does anyone know if it’d be possible to change course before starting, and how I’d go about it?
Any advice would be welcomed, I’ve applied for this course at Lancaster and Liverpool, ( the other unis I’ve applied for are a lot more Lang based anyway).
I know that Lancaster does a flexible first year, so would I be able to pick up linguistics as my 3rd subject and then drop lit at the end of the year?
And for Liverpool, can I choose an area to specialise in after first year? Or am I remembering something wrong from the open day?

Ask the universities which you've received offers from. It can do no harm, and I suspect they would be amenable to your change.

I understand that you want to focus more on the language and linguistic aspects of English. Remember, though, that studying literature can provide a way in to asking questions about the use of language in literary texts, albeit as a secondary aspect of literary interpretation.

Best wishes whatever you decide.
