seriously change if you can. i'm sure you'll have a good time wherever you go but their awful treatment of students has to stop. one of my flatmates got charged £0.04 for something and was ordered to pay on threat of his degree being disqualified. also they have the gall to charge me £4.50 extra cleaning charges for a kitchen that we kept as clean as we could. i wouldn't mind but the fact that the place was teeming with mice just takes the p***
Luckily I took pics of the rooms I stayed in at Whitworth! These from Thorncliffe House, and it was the biggest room in the flat. Think someone at the accomodation office took pity on me after the tiny room I had in Burleigh the year before! I have some pics of the Burleigh room somewhere but I can't for the life of me remember where they are on my computer.

Ava-Rice - I can't believe that anyone didn't get in to Whitworth! I honestly thought there were empty rooms left. Those pictures of Thorncliffe look about 100 times nicer than the room I had in Derby, btw!

Don't mean to scare anyone on here but they forgot to give me a room. I called up about a week before I moved down there and they told me my place on the course had been withdrawn (it hadn't, my course is partially organised by MMU and they hadn't passed on my results). In the end they completely disregarded my application and put me in Wilmslow Park which was lovely but pretty expensive...
I was really upset at the time but I found out it really didn't matter as much as I thought it would. So I guess the moral of this is don't stress too much about your options, it'll work out ok in the end.
I only had to wait like 3 times in the whole year to use a shower. They're as filthy as hell though, or at least mine was.
Is that in all the houses of Whitworth? OMG i cant believe 9 people share on toilet :/ thats so.. :s i thought theyd at least have 3 between the 9 people.? plus i saw this youtube video of whitworth and if im not mistakent they had 2 toilets. :/

It's 2 toilets for 8 people.
One of the toilets in my flat had a leaky pipe near it and a door that wouldn't close properly (bathroom was poorly constructed), so for me it was kinda like 1 toilet for 8 people.
There were 9 in our flat and two toilet cubicles - the third cubicle had the bath in it. Shower was particularly awful - BUT we all survived it in a state of reasonable health and cleanliness, as will those students moving in this year.
it depends what flat you are in. if you are in thorncliffe then you have better conditions than some of the other ones (although some are being refurbished over this holiday period) thorncliffe has 9 residents per flat with 2 toilets and 3 showers which are in good condition (hot water within seconds and in their own separate cubicles) so its not all doom and gloom
