Laughing At Ugly People.

I know its not the "done thing" and im pretty sure its not normal, but I was at my girlfriends house last night, and two of her housemates (girls) came into the room and they both ended up on facebook. One of the girls (who generally isnt a bitch) was roaming photos and then she was like oh my god "look at these two people for ugly" She proceeded to show us a picture of ugly boy and ugly girl who might have gone to her school? anyhow they were quite ugly, but not deformed, but the other girl started laughing at them in absolute hysterics, she was bawling her eyes out and laughing for a good ten minutes solid! I laughed too because she was laughing so much and It amused me how funny she was finding the two ugly people, I guess the ugly people were funny'ish but not really that funny. Anyhow was just wondering if anyone knows anyone else who will openly laugh at ugly people, I found it quite bizzare.

I think they just put it on because that's the only thing they can boast about; their looks compared to someone else, its pathetic.

Exactly, somebody tell me a common interpretation of "ugly". I mean surely some things that may be ugly for you may not be for others... remember,
"beauty iies everywhere just not everyone is capable of seeing it..."

If I'm feeling particularly bitchy, I sometimes make a comment if I see someone who I think is particularly ugly. I don't laugh hysterically about it as I don't see why it's funny.

I know people like that, so to be honest I don't think its abnormal.

I thin kto an extent there is an aspect of objectivity in ugly people in extreme cases. However My question should have been do you know anyone who finds ugly people funny. The girls who was in hysterics is actually pretty popular and certainly not lacking in self esteem, shes a blonde pin-thin ballerinas daughter.

Mostly it's subjective.
However scientifically don't we generally find people whose faces are symmetrical to be more attractive?

But anyway the thread is about our opinions on laughing at 'ugly' people.
In my opinion it is wrong to berate someone for something they have had no control over.
