This question has three parts to it, two of which I did already. this is what I have so far:
Attachment 799814 Attachment 799816 however I'm not sure how to work out the last part. any help is appreciated, thanks

Your approach is slightly incorrect. That's not the equation of the tangent; its the equation of the line through X and P. You can technically use the tangent equation approach, but that is quite long winded.

XYP is a right-angled triangle with the right-angle at Y. Hope it's obvious.

If you can determine the length a = XP and b = XY then you can use Pythagoras' Theorem to work out the length PY.
