Sorry, shoulda said - female.

Diy?

I do usually, but every now and again I like to get it done profesch' just to keep the condition okay. Plus I feel like a restyle and not just a trim. =)
Akmals - £5
Fellow Cowley rd - £8 last time I checked
Giovanies - Off Regfield rd(which is off the Cowley Rd) - £11

I really, really woudn't recommend Akmals though...
Giovanni's is defo one of the best in the city (better than £40 T&G)...but is kind expensive.
Fellows or any other good barbers on the cowely road will probably do.
Be wary of the ones at cowley center though...
As long as it isnt Akmals it should be decent.

Depends on your definition of cheap - try Versus on Cowley Rd, £20 apparently.

Brothers on the High Street (just before Harveys and Magdalen) often have trainees in who do it for around £20 (from memory). I get mine done there and they do a nice job. One of the professionals always comes and checks it over so there's not that much risk that they'll mess it up majorly.
oops just realized your a girl.
Ignore the above post and just go to T&G - seriously .

I would recommend Brothers, I had mine done there a few weeks ago. It's not particularly cheap, but they do 10% student discounts during the week.
Tony and guy has a student discount day too. Not sure when.

Mahogany (on Turl Street, Market St & Little Clarendon St) are supposed to be good. They're quite pricey I understand, but they do a cheap day for students I believe. I might be wrong though...I just know several friends who went 2years ago and said although it was pricey it was good.

Also depends on what your definition of cheap is - ie. whereabouts you're from in UK! At home with me it costs £30 to get a cut at a fairly average salon!

Discount at Mahogany is something like 25% for students  I've got price lists for most of the city centre ones at home somewhere, I'll see if I can dig them out later.

Clippers at Argos = £20.

Since you can use these for an infinite number of haircuts, the haircuts are effectively free.

OP, might be an idea if you change the gender on your profile from unspecified to female!
I went to this place http://aboutfaceoxford.co.uk/ up Iffley Road, and got a cut and highlights for £50. They do 10% off for students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

im with this guy.

watch a youtube vid, learn how to cut your own hair with trimmers, buy trimmers for £20, never pay for a haircut again!

the potential for that to go horribly wrong is immense.

In the end I got bored of the weekend and cut it myself anyway, I'm sure it looks rubbish from the back, but I can't see that, and the front is kind of how I planned

As the days pass and I notice all the faults, I will end up at a hairdresser, so thank you all for your help!
