Do questions and lots of them! Also make sure you know any quotes for essays or passages that you need to know. But yeah most importantly questions and repetition of that.

For english lit, pre write popular essay titles and get them marked by your teacher and improve them until you get high marks, then remember the quotes/points you used, and learn a few extra quotes that can be used in many different contexts, for english language it's really just about practicing and making sure you know what each question is asking for and how to keep it concise
