As the class committee chairperson, I have a thought that I should create a pre-exam tournament for the class as a motivation to study for IGCSE exams. Which format from the below should I do for the class (there are 14 of us)?
1. League (I will throw the entire class into a league, while the student who acts as 'home' will get 1-2 extra questions as home advantage. Students play each other twice, and 3 points will be given for a win and 1 for a draw, the student with the most points wins the league)
2. World Cup (I will divide the entire class into 4 groups, and each student in the group plays each other once. The top 2 advance to the quarter finals, and one-off knockout until final)
3. Champions League 93/94 (I will randomly pair up 8 students, and each game is over 2 legs, until 2 remain and join the other 6 in the group stage with 2 groups of 4. Each student then plays each other twice, top 2 advance to semi finals)
4. Champions League 99/00-02/03 (Similar to format 3, but I will add one more group stage of format 2, but students play each other twice)

I'd go for a league, there's less luck involved there than in a knockout format.

Thanks. The league will start on 14/3/2019, and there will be 2 rounds of fixtures over 13 match days. I will start season 2 on 14/4/2019. Season 3 will kick off when study leave starts on 3/5/2019, perfect to end it before our first exam on 16/5/2019. Season 4 will last from 17/5/2019 to the second set of exams. Each of us will have 26 matches per season.
