I was looking around here and there actully isn't a Brass Society.. theres woodwind, strings but no Brass!!

So decided to start this up for any brass players, wannabe brass players or just brass fans to discuss any related to brass instruments, bands etc...

YAY!!

I play trombone (a Conn 88HO that took a LONG time for me to save up for ); I started about 4/5 years ago now and love it. I enjoy playing most genres of music - orchestral to jazz!! Anyone else out there play 'bone?

haha, i've just rediscovered this thread!
But i'm happy i've managed to be able to make the E two octaves ubove middle C on my cornet by teaching myself
probably doesn't sound that big a deal, but i'm happy about it! lol.

does anyone have any good works that have good brass lines in it.. I know Hummels meant to be good, and I've also recently listened to Mahlers C sharp symphony with the trumpet phrase at the beginning.

Yeah it is I've had mine for nearly 2 years now, and I still love it! I had a minor mishap last year involving me squashing the bell, but it's fixed and only has a couple of battle scars to show for it It took me nearly a year to save up for it and it's probably my favouritist thing I own !!!
