English Literature (Edexcel) coursework

Hi, I'm a private student and haven't even started the coursework yet. It's really stressing me out. The novels I'm studying are 'The Color Purple' +'Hard Times' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'+'Tess the d'urbervilles. I'm thinking of doing the coursework on 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' and Tess. Is that a good choice? Also, could someone please guide me on what kind of things I can write about? What things should I compare? Tips?

Like I mentioned, I'm a private student and have no idea where to submit the coursework. There is a form that I have to fill out in the specification that needs a teachers signature and everything. But as a private student what should I do?

One more thing, I've been trying to sign up for this exam online for May/June, but it's confusing as there are so many options on there. Do all three exams (poetry, drama, prose) need to be signed up for separately?

I'd really appreciate if someone could help out! Thanks.
