Hey guys! for the source question do you write a conclusion at the end evaluating which source was the most useful?

You just conclude each source to say how valuable it is, didn’t think you had to compare

Seeing as last year the paper was focused on:
-> sources: Sans culottes
-> essays: the causes of France's issues by 1789, Napoleon's contribution towards France by 1806 and the directory

I'm guessing this year it could be on:
- Napoleon as a military genius or even the downfall of Napoleon
- The terror maybe
- anything between the assembly of notables and Louis' execution (i,e a focus on the constitutional monarchy experiment )
- Coup of Brumaire or the peninsular war / continental blockade as sources maybe?

You don't compare them, you look at each source in isolation (although you could, if relevant use context from one to back up your point in the other.)

You must include:
- Tone, provenance, content and context

Also how much and how long should you write for each question?
Cuz I feel like I wrote far too less for my Tudors paper.

There is no set amount as long as what you say is filled with evidence and there is a clear coherent argument running throughout. If you have medium sized handwriting I would say maybe 3 pages or so.
But like I said -> quality over quantity.

Hope this helps

This paper is not looking like it will be good. I just hope it's not nearly as hard as the British Empire paper because that was a mess.

Quick question Was the 1813-14 campaign the fourth coalition? The AQA text book says the 4th coalition but a lot of sources on the internet call it the Sixth Coalition!

Textbook is wrong, should be the sixth coalition. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. AQA have said ( on their helpline) that the textbook spec is right and there is debate among historians as to the number of coalitions. Maybe it would be safer to refer to the debate?

I was a bit worried when I saw the sources, as I though I didn't know the coup of brumair in great detail but I knew there wasn't that many facts that you could write about it anyway, and I did the 1st and 3rd essay questions and thought they were very easy tbh
