Hello everyone,

Found myself a bit stuck on part C for this question even after looking at the hints.
I’ve worked out the initial acceleration of the system as 2.2 ms^-2 (which is correct) and the velocity of the system just before m2 hits the ground as 1.4 ms^-1. I’ve also worked out the distance traveled by m1 and m3 under “free fall” as 0.1m. I tried using convservation of momentum to find our the velocity, but I get the same velocity as the one I worked out before the m2 hit th ground.

I think you've gone wrong calculating the maximum displacement of m3 after m2 hits the floor... I got a bigger value
the acceleration to the left while m2 is on the floor is m1g /(m1+m2) maybe you've reused an inappropriate value from an earlier stage?
