Is here anyone online who I could ask re. descriptive statistics? SOS

So I am appraising one article and it says it used descriptive statistics to calculate proportions and describe characteristics of participants. They have 2 tables - one participants characteristics and one which describes lvls of functioning in specific areas (scored with percentages/numbers of people who said yes) scored by researcher.
I know this is probably a poor study, but I wonder if the tables are the statistics then? I red that descriptive statistics aim to report on date/summarise and they can do it in different ways eg. mode, mean,..etc. But is this also descriptive statistics. Just not sure how to critique on this.

Thank you very much!
