Edexcel English Language

Hi,

My main question is how on earth do you revise English language?
This is mainly for the personal and social identity and language change over time, I'm pretty good with the theorists and have been doing a lot of revision over key terms to aid discussion however this still feels insufficient.

Compared to history and geography it's hard to spend a lot of time revising English as it is mainly quick key word flash card revision. I'm just worried this is not enough and I'm missing something.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a textbook?
