Freshers Week is what you make of it - the best thing to do is to get as involved with joining societies and introducing yourself to people you meet, your course mates and your flat mates. You will meet so many people during Freshers Week - some you don't get on with, some you will. There is a wide variety of societies to join and usually a wide variety of events to attend - there may be club nights or pub quizzes you could attend or just house parties. Best thing is to just relax and have fun - university is a fun experience so make the most of it!
