Get with hot girls/get in relationships with less hot girls?

How come soooo many guys get with super hot girls in clubs but then they don’t ask for their numbers/pursue anything, yet they ask for the numbers of the less attractive girls and end up in relationships with them?

That girl you think of as 'less attractive' could be perfect in his eyes.

Super hot and less attractive are your opinion of these girls and may not be shared by the guys who are with them.
And they may just be looking for fun in the clubs, not a serious relationship

My guy mates say they pull hot girls but think they’re too out of their league to consider dating them and so don’t bother asking for numbers due to fear of rejection
