Hey!

I’m struggling to grasp the concepts behind mechanics, in particular, the use of SUVAT equations, motion in one dimension and vertical motion.

It’s alwyas a gamble as to whether I’ll get the question right or not.
I struggle extracting the information from questions and actually being able to understand what I’m being asked.

I know that when I ask for tips, a lot of people will say practice makes perfect, and as much as I believe that to be true, it’s the actual learning of the topic that I’m struggling with and applying what I’ve learnt into questions with context.

So before I can really do all those practice questions, I need to actually understand what’s going on.

Obviously I’ve been taught it, but barely, teacher isn’t the greatest ☹️.
So, does anyone have any tips/advice?

All you need to do is visualise and think it through every step of the way. What most people do with suvat is try and just remember why things are the way the are, rather then being flexible and adapting to new styles of questions and visualise. You need to be flexible. You need to be willing to learn from your mistakes. You need to make sure you understand suvat.
