I mean this in no offense to anyone with autism

I volunteer in the severely autistic classroom at my school during my free period. Just talking to them, playing with them, and just interacting with them. I talk to them like I would with any normal kid. But this one kid, shall we call him John (not real name) has taken it to far. If I’m talking to him he will just come up to me so we are literally touching then he stares st me very intently. He chases me down hallway, will hug me from behind when I’m talking to someone, will call my name in the hallway, and he’s even tried kissing me. Now everytime I see him a run away. I’m asexual and kids at my school don’t know it. I don’t know how to let him down without seeming like the girl who broke the autistic kid’s heart.

Tell him that you don't do relationships but are happy to advise on said area. But since you say he's "severely" autistic, he might take a bit more time to adjust in the real world compared to an aspie.

quite judgemental to be honest - we dont know anything about him

OP just explain to him clearly that you arent interested in relationships

Considering he's autistic and grabs her and tries to kiss her, he clearly does not understand the consrquences or the fact that she doesn't want to. He would be willing to rape her if that's what it takes.

Tell him that you aren't comfortable with other people touching you. If he continues then inform a member of staff.

It was quite interesting to read this thread, as I have very little knowledge on dealing with autistic people, so thank you for posting!

I believe that measures need to be taken regardless of his mental condition. His forward advances should not just be 'laughed off' just because he is autistic. Approach this issue as you would with anyone and let someone know about it, they may know how to deal with it better.

I have tried talking to him but it won’t work. I tried to explain to him in short words. I told him “Stop. I don’t like you like that I don’t have feelings toward you” Should I just stop volunteering? Because like I said before I don’t wanna break him but I can’t be forced into a relationship because people think it’s sweet that the autistic kid has found love. It either that or just tell all the gossipers I’m an Ace

No indication of that at all. He can't judge what OP wants right now but that's not to say if she was shouting no that he would ignore her. He also may not be interested in sex. Being autistic doesn't make him bad.

OP talk to your teacher and ask their advice on how best to tell him to stop.

Your sexuality is irrelevant. Not wanting a relationship with him would be just as valid if you were straight.
