A parallel-plate capacitor is fully charged and then disconnected from the power supply. A dielectric is then inserted between the plates. Which row correctly identifies the charge on the plates and the electric field strength between the plates?

The answer was the row with DECREASE electric field strength and charge stays the same. I understand why E decreases but doesnt the charge increase as the capacitance of the capacitor increase so it can store more charge?

Ohhhh yess, i didnt consider that. Thanks! By the way if it was still connnected to the power supply, the charge stored in plates would have increased right?

Yes, as the pd would have remained constant, C increasing.
