Size: 55.6 KB does this make sense and is the grammar correct? Is it alright to put a comma after the ‘and’? Also, what else could I say to talk about a boat capsizing? 😊

No need to put a comma after ‘and’ as it is a connective :-) grammar is all correct, you have used ‘immense’ twice though so you might want to change this. Talk about how the guy feels being capsized? He feels his body being tossed like a rag doll or something?? Hope this helps x

I do not believe that there is a rule in grammar that states that a coordinating conjunction should precede a comma. If there is, however, it would be great if you could show me the source for it. Anyway, I usually put one if there is an independent clause after the coordinating conjunction, but that is about it really.

Also, I would abstain from talking about feelings too much. Instead, one should probably write about what is happening to the character. Rather than feeling like he is being tossed like a rag doll, he is actually being tossed like one - it gives the examiner more room for thought and more things to infer. I definitely think that this is a much better approach; it helped me get full marks in my actual creative writing last year.

EDIT: I just re-read your comment and realised that the first paragraph in my reply was redundant lol.
