Hiya,

I’m in Year 12 doing bio, chem, maths and psychology.

Depending on my grades, I’m dropping either chemistry or maths for Year 13.

I’m hoping to apply for either Medicine or Healthcare science for Uni, not sure yet.

So right now, I would say I’m not struggling but I’m also not achieving he grades I’m hoping to achieve so I’m gonna focus more on my revision and notes.

That being said, I also started research my hand sanitizer project for gold Crest award but I’m contemplating whether to drop out or not, although I’ve done barely any progress in it anyway.

So, if I drop out, this is what my uni application personal statement “work experience, hobbies, stuff etc” would include:

Work experience:
• Shadowed microbiology rounds in hospital wards (ITU) w/ doctor, pharmacist
• Doctor gave me tour of microbiology labs
• Shadowed outreach nurse in hospital going to different wards
• Going to hospital work experience for 2 days in August

Volunteering:
• Volunteer at Care home; collect plates, clean tables, clean floor, talk to residents

School stuff:
• In HE+ programme by Cambridge, going on Cambridge residential trip in April for 3 days
• Helper in school science club for Year 7
• Go to basketball club nearly every week

Other:
• Work at KFC; do cleaning, drinks + desserts, fries, sides
• Have an aquarium in my house, do maintenance for it
• Altar server in church
• Used to do karate (black belt), swimming and lifeguarding

Does anyone know what else I can do to make me stand out or would this be enough for the uni courses I’m interested in?

Do you think doing crest award would be beneficial or I should just drop it and focus on exams since my grades are lacking?

Thanks!
