One of my modules requires us to write a proposal for a dissertation (we won't actually be working on the dissertation itself). Unfortunately, the assistance and guidance we've been given has been non-existent, so I've been left to figure it out on my own.
I have an idea for what I want to write on, era and subject wise, but further than that, I'm clueless. I've researched how to write them via guides online, but I'm confused even at the first hurdle, whether the proposal is a 'topic' that we research, or an 'argument' for a specific point (I've seen both mentioned).
Can anyone give me some advice?
