Film production and general uni help

I have an offer from Glostershire to do film production in September and I'm wondering about how people find the uni, I think the course looks really interesting yet challenging and it's the course side that's really swaying me to seriously look into Glostershire.

Anyone who goes there already can you tell me about, social life, Cheltenham, the uni outside of the course

Also, can film students take cameras and equipment out from a stores or something to do their own projects with?
