Why is there a link to Edward the Confessor in Macbeth when James was the King of England at the time? The internet shows that Edward the Confessor ruled in 1003.

not gonna lie there is very little that shows that specific link, Macbeth was written by Shakespeare for James VI of Scotland, and I looked up to see if there was a Scottish link between Edward and James but there isn't one.
and just fyi Edward was born in 1003, he ruled 1042-1066
