Student Finance

Hey, I don't really understand how student finance works to a perfect degree so I thought I'd ask on here.
I am starting Uni in September have applied for student finance etc.
At Solent they usually take payments for accommodation 3 times a year (per term) September, January and May. However, I already know I am not going to get my 2nd Maintenance loan until Feb so it will be late. What do I do? I understand you can get overdrafts etc. but I cannot get one large enough. Can I change the payment day with uni or student finance?
