Memorization

How do I move onto another topic without forgetting the previous topic that I won't revisit for a while?

you'll have to keep coming back to it i I think
Studies have shown that the one of the best methods for memory retention is testing yourself so answering questions on the topic that you just revised. Questions that you got wrong you go over and learn what you didn't know. Do this for every topic. Also, writing down or verbally repeating what you've just learnt by memory alone can help to reinforce what you've learnt.
