Firm choice Essex Uni

I've made Essex university my first choice, their conditions are DDM.
But i've calculated my grades using this BTEC grade calculator and, i'm most likely going to be getting DMM. That is one grade below my conditions for Essex. My second choice which is Coventry also requires DDM.
I want to know if Essex is strict when it comes to their conditions or not because I was predicted an MMM yet they still gave me the offer.

it will depend on what other applicants get really, it can vary each year.
