Sequences - Maths A Level

For the following question:

an investor puts £4000 in an account. Every monoth thereafter she deposits another £200. How much money in total will she have invested at the start of the 10th month.

I'm struggling to use the sum formula for arithmetic sequences. Why won't this work? Thank you!
You need to use the formula for the nth term a+(n-1)d to find how much money is in the 10th month (n=10).
The sum formula cumulatively adds up the entire money in the account each month, not just what's added. So you get 4000+4200+4400 etc which isn't whats available in the account.
