I've never been good at approaching women, its always frustrating when i see a girl i like and i think she likes me, because i am always too shy to make a move, or even know how to do it. it just seems so strange to me... and even though we live in modern times, chances are the girl wont make the first move... right?
so i was asking this guy i know what he does if he sees a girl he likes. he said to 'boldly approach her and tell her your name, and ask to buy her a drink". Is it really that simple? I mean if im standing outside Russel Square Station and make eye contact with an attractive redhead again, do I just walk up to her and say "Hello my name is Kyle, I was wondering If you wanted to get coffee with me".

don't use a cheesey line....that won't get you anywhere.....make eye contact and be confident.....all women love sum1 who can make them laugh.....beware of cheesy jokes though as well! just be yourself and put urself out there
Personally I walk up, say whatever I'm thinking, then proceed to talk whatevers on my mind for the next 10-15 minutes.
If she laughs at what I'm saying and seems to like me, it's all good. If she doesn't, I walk up to the next one and repeat the process.
It doesn't require much thought or effort to be honest.

In my personal opinion, cheesy lines can be funny but only in the right situation, like a club or something when you've both had a little to drink.
I wouldn't recomend being wasted as you will just look like a **** lol.
And yea go up and chat, start with the weather if you really lack something, smile and be friendly, but non threateningly friendly.

im sorry but this annoys me... ive heard this stuff from countless people, it tells me nothing at all. obviously dont be cheesy, but what does that mean!? anyway, im actually looking for a way of opening conversation... i understand making her laugh is good, but i cannot just walk up and say something i percieve to be funny. can i?

a "hey, hows it going" is the best way to aproach anyone, what follows after is what is important.
Don't tell her your name straight away, and whatever you do DON'T BUY HER A DRINK!
Just go up and start talking. Talk about something in the general area, talk about something that's just happened in general. Just make sure it's fairly fun and light hearted. Introduce yourself after you've had a few minutes of interesting conversation.

usually I ask what their favourite film is. A lot of people in london ask "so what do you do?" Basically just ask some sort of question that will lead on to conversation..its basic talking to people, there's no real science or methodology to it.
Just open with a question and try not to be too boring.

what i mean is.....don't try and be some 'cool' guy or whatever...i'm not saying go and unleash ur thoughts on her haha just don't put on a front cos she'll probs see through it. Just be genuine and ask her normal stuff like where she's from and what course she's studying at uni etc (if ur in uni)
