Do you have to be able to speak Welsh for these posts? I have applied for Clinical Biochemistry and I remember that I was asked whether I could speak Welsh and I answered no to those questions. Does anyone know whether that is a requirement? I do remember reading in the person specification something about that you have to promote the Welsh language..

Hey, I actually don't think it was an essential requirement, it was a desirable requirement meaning you will be mainly judged how you meet the person specification and job description rather than your ability to speak welish. Also, it did indicate on the job advert that both English speakers and Welish speakers are "equally" welcomed to apply. so wouldn't worry about that too much.

Hey guys

I've just had an unsuccessful email for cancer genomics. Still waiting to hear for genomics. Has anyone else heard anything today?
Nothing yet! Getting really nervous now. :frown:

Yeah it's a very anxious time!! I think emails are bad and texts are good; according to someone further up the thread who got an interview, they got a text.

What did you apply for?
I’ve been rejected as well :frown:

Oh really? Interesting way of doing things I suppose! Developmental and Clinical Biochem. I think I'm more hopeful for Developmental but who knows.

Well it seems that's how they're doing it but I'm not certain.

Yeah it's really tough to know what they want, not sure if this is on par with the English version but it's so difficult and not getting to interview doesn't help. I mean even if we didn't get the job at least having an interview would give us an idea of what they're looking for.

Hopefully you'll hear something soon :crossedf:
Yeah I think the personal statement isn't the best way of knowing if someone is right for the role alone or not. All they have is that and our grades. I think a staged interview process would be better or some kind of pointed questions regarding the role.

Did you apply for genomics as well?

I used the same application for both (maybe a mistake in hindsight!) so I'll be surprised if I get an interview for that if I didn't for cancer genomics.
No I didn’t, I just applied for cancer genomics. At least we can call for feedback though, we couldn’t get that with the English one!

Yeah that's good, have you requested it yet? I called the number and the lady gave me an email to contact so just waiting to hear back from them.

Did you apply for the English one too? That application process is more like that, with 4 questions relating to the 4 interview station subjects and the role itself
Haven't heard anything for Medical Physics yet... I worry with each notification that someone from my specialism has heard back with an interview, meaning I've likely been rejected :frown: still hoping for good news though.

I think more people haven’t heard than have, I think each specialism is being released separately eg. Cancer genomics heard back today. I wouldn’t worry! They send a notification whether you get it or not and they should be all done by the end of this week according to an email further up the thread 🥰
