Hi everyone,

I need help analysing some quotes from Othello for my A level mock.

Othello ‘For she chose me, no, Iago, I’ll see before I doubt’
Iago ‘the jealous confirmations strong as proof of holy writ’
Iago ‘the moor already changes with my poison’
Iago ‘an old black ram is tupping your white ewe’
Iago ‘your daughter and the moor are now making the beast with two backs’
Brabantio ‘to fall in love with what she feared to look on’
Duke of Venice ‘your son in law is far more fair than black’
Iago ‘one may smell in such a will most rank’
Othello ‘her name…is now begrimed and black as mine own face’
Othello ‘nor scar that whitter skin of hers than snow’
Emilia ‘and you the blacker devil’
Iago ‘Look to your house, your daughter, and your bags! Thieves, thieves!’
Iago ‘An old black ram is tupping your white ewe’
‘She loved me for the dangers I had passed and I loved her that she did pity them’
Emilia ‘Their wives have sense like them’
‘The profits yet to come ‘tween me and you’
‘he tonight hath boarded a land carrack’
Iago ‘as if he pucked up kisses by the roots that grew upon my lips’
Brabantio ‘O, thou foul thief, where hast thou stowed my daughter?’
Brabantio ‘Abused her delicate youth with drugs or minerals’
Iago ‘I do suspect the lusty Moor hath leaped into my seat’
Othello ‘We can call these delicate creatures ours and not their appetites’
Iago ‘But for my sport and profit. I hate the moor’
Iago ‘Abuse [Othello’s] ear’
Iago ‘Our bodies are our gardens, to which our wills are gardeners.’
Iago ‘From this time forth I will never speak a word.’
Iago ‘Heaven is my judge, not I for love and duty’
Brabantio ‘O treason of the blood!’
Othello ‘Let him do his spite. My services which I have done the signiory shall out-tongue his complaints’
Othello ‘Therefore little shall I grace my cause in speaking for myself.’
Othello ‘I love the gentle Desdemona’
Othello ‘She loved me for the dangers I had passed, and I loved her that she did pity them.’
Desdemona ‘His unkindness may defeat my life, but never taint my love’
