1st year UWIC student here, noticed there wasn't a thread about the uni here so i'm able to answer questions if anyone wants to know anything about coming to UWIC or the city of Cardiff itself.
Cut the UWIC/Cardiff uni banter by the way, just trying to help prospective students
UWIC is high on my list of places I want to go to (top infact) Just wondering if you have pictures of the campus and accomodation, what the en-suite facilities are like and such. Also, any pictures of the surrounding area.

I can give you all the information you want . Firstly, what accommodation have you applied for? and what would you be studying? Need that info to answe your questions!
Surrounding areas: Cardiff really is an amazing city. Big enough to have loads of events on, great shopping, amazing nightlife, but also small enough so that you like regularly run into people you'll know and will rarely get lost
I'm not going to be going to Uni until 2009, but I'm in the last stages of picking the 5 I will apply for. The accomodation I will apply for if I get in will be anything that's Self Catering and En-Suite (En-suite is a must) I'll be applying for Creative Writing and English Literature.
If so, you can either stay right next to all your lectures and stuff at Cyncoed campus, or you sound like you'd enjoy where I stayed this year just gone, Allensbank House.
Cyncoed campus is for the school of education and the school of sport. I know loads about it as i do sports coaching, and all of my lectures were there. During term i'm there monday-friday, (well, depending on how hungover i was.. :P) and i've just finished all my exams there.
Cyncoed offers self catered and catered accommodation, but i'm pretty sure none of it is en-suite, but i'd ask first because im not sure. The advantages of living here is you're right in the thick of things, you can literally get out of bed at 8:55 for a 9:00 lecture. The social side is awesome too, everyone in their buildings are like one big family and always do stuff together. Sport facilities are right on site too, if you join a team or just want to use the gym. Disadvantages are probobly the quality of accommodation. It's not great, slightly old and not modern. No ensuites, well atleast none in my friends flats which i've been in.
Allensbank House. is where i stayed in my first year, i originally wanted to stay at cyncoed but now im glad i didnt. Allensbank is about a 20-25 min walk (up a bastard of a hill too lol) but the rooms and kitchens are lush. Every room is ensuite, and self catered. The pics are on the website (click the link i put at the start of this paragraph). However they are slightly mischevious. Theres no ball games allowed, but from the 5 pics you can see the kichen, bathroom and bedrooms which are all amazing. Very modern, larger than cyncoed and nicer too. Only a 20-25 min walk from cyncoed, and a short 5-10 min bus ride from town. Also, theres a sandwich shop just on the corner of the drive called Arjans, pretty much the best place to eat in the world ever!
So yeah, Cyncoed for the social life, Allensbank for the quality really. There are a few other places, such as The Bakery, which is run by the same people who do Allensbank, it's RIGHT next to town, like a 2min walk, and you just catch a bus to cyncoed, but i've never been there so don't know much about it. Victoria halls is like allensbank, but a lot further away from cyncoed.
That place looks really great. I'll definitely make sure to look in to that when it gets to that stage.
Looking under the "fees and charges" pop-up thing, it says "your weekly rent" but I can't seem to find anywhere on there that states how much it is. How much is weekly rent at Allensbank House?

Well they will if you live in halls and so live with people from other campuses.
