How far is the llandaff campus from the city centre?
Just wondering?


About 2 miles, so 40-50 minutes walk... but about 10 minutes by car.

Ive made UWIC my firm with Tourism Management as my course. Whats everyone put down as their first choice accommodation?
I'm going in september, to do modern history and politics....
My boyfriend goes to UWIC for illustration. He likes it and its the best place to go for Art courses in Wales. I think its good for practical, vocational courses, e.g. Art, Music, Drama, teaching, but not for academic subjects.

Youll find alot of people dont live in halls, my bf didnt and the four guys he shares his house with didnt either, the accomodation leaves much to be desired and my bf said alot of people who originally went for accomodation, moved out and privately rented, because for the money you could get much better, and the campus' are much smaller, therefore any social aspect isnt that much of an advantage.

I would never choose the King Coed campus accom myself if I was considering going there, its far out from the main city and a bit tricky transport wise. My bf lives on North Rd which is perfect for his Llandaf campus, opposite Tescos. He enjoys his course overall. :smile:

Im going to UWIC in September, but I will be living at home! Will i meet lots of friends and people who will want me to come out with them even though i wont be living in the centre of it all? Im really paranoid that I will be left out :frown:

Yeah, course. I rarely went out with the people I lived with, it was always coursemates or just a general social circle (friends of friends etc.)

I agree with Rightsaidjames nothing to worry about everyone is so dispersed you end up meeting alot of people out or just go for pre drinks at some ones house so you'll be fine!
Ok, now slightly worried about accomodation as I chose Cyncoed, lol. Ach well.
I'm planning on doing English and Creative Writing, anyone else?

i went to look around on an open day they seem ok, i'm sure once all your stuffs in them they'll seem better anyway...
Nah, I couldnt make it to an open day, it's pretty far away and I couldn't afford the transport, lol.

i got a lift up luckily so i was alright, i only live an hour or so away, i have photos of the rooms on my computer someone from the uni sent them to me when i asked about the halls, i'd put them on here for you but i don't know how to....
