I just got withdrawn from a maths degree for failing too many modules. The main reason for me failing was that I had to commute 2 hours each way, which led to me being too tired to properly study. So, in conclusion, I don't recommend doing a similar length commute to mine, although I can't speak for those doing arts/non-STEM subjects, as it may be easier for some of them to get work done while commuting.
