council tax discount HELP

Hi, myself and my partner are moving to Edinburgh this coming summer. I will be a full-time student at University and he will be a working as a chef. How does this work out for council tax and what is the discount? i'm planning on have my name also on the lease so i'm unsure whether that changes anything or not.

Sorry I am a little uneducated on this topic since this will be my first time moving out.

Full time students are exempt from council tax.
Your partner will be liable to pay it but he will likely receive a 25% discount as a lone council tax payer.
Exempt for council tax purposes means that you are not included in council tax calculations.
