Guys, does anyone think that the grade boundaries on the EDEXCEL website are accurate? 42/60 for an A* in the drama paper just seems far too low! I would have expected at least 51/60 for an A*

yes theyre accurate, edexcel have a weird way with marking essays and are very harsh compared to other exam boards which is why grade boundaries are low, that's what my teacher says anyway

Well, thank you. I do not know if that's a blessing or a curse! Low grade boundaries are great, but I am not too keen on the sound of very harsh marking.

How many critics do you guys actually use in your essays on average ?
only 3. it's more about what you do with them that gets you the a05 marks

If you study Othello I think it might be about how women are presented

what points would you mention about Mitch?!!
Original post by BB777
Hopefully Emilia for othello and Mitch for streetcar...that would be heaven for me

Brabantio!! There are legit no critics for him that would be horrible.
I have 3 for Roderigo and they are all from E. J. Honigmann
Hopefully it will just be Othello or Emilia though that would be lovely

What themes for streetcar?
A.c. Bradley 'she nowhere shows any signs of having a bad heart'
'her stupidity in this matter is gross, but it is stupidity and nothing worse'

matt simpson:
'emilia underscores desdemona's lack of knowledge in the world'
'she dies in service of the truth'
'we have to acknowledge the fact that wives are required to be obedient to understand Emilia's handing over of the handkerchief'
